4 Year old girl

My 4 year old daughter is showing signs of sexual interest lately. I know this is normal at her age but I am wondering what is noraml. I caught her and her friend, a 4 year old boy, showing eachother their privates. I explained to both of them they cannot do that and if they have questions to ask me and his parents. The thing is, they were hidding when doing it, and she told him not to tell his mommy or daddy. Also, the other day at day care she and a 2 year old girl hid behind a play pen and we believe that my daughter touched the two year old girl. She was also overheard telling the little girl not to tell anybody. For those of you wondering the day care provider went to the bathroom and that is why she wasn't there at this exact time. My daughter has never accidently seen anthing sexualy in our house. I do not know where she has learnt this. And I am wondering if it is normal for a 4 year old girl to touch another little girl. And where she would learn to tell her friends to not tell anybody. She has also had trouble sleeping the past couple of weeks, and she has had trouble pooping off and on for a while now. She also had blood in her poop yesterday at day care. I am just concerned that something may have happened to her. She knows about private parts and that other people are not to touch hers and she is not to touch other peoples. Hoping I could get some adivce. PS- I have asked her if anybody has touhed her privates before and she has told me no. However, I know that no could be no or it could be yes but Im not telling.

I agree with trying43 for her to be this young and keep telling the other children to not say anything her not sleeping and bleeding, it would be best to get her checked by a Dr.

Hoping for you and your daughter that something has not happened to her, but I have a 4 year old almost 5 year old and we have not experienced any of this. She has touched herself before and been curious about it but never another child and when I explained she shouldn't touch her self she stopped.

I do think for her to be doing these things so young she must have seen something somewhere.... Just my opinion, I'm not a Dr. So my advice would be to talk to her Dr. about it and explain the situation to him/her. I can certainly be wrong, and again, hope that I am.

I didnt even see that part.. Yes if she has blood in her stool then you should defninitly take her to a doc. And if shes having trouble sleeping something may have happened to her. Im sorry I overlooked that part.

I would be concerned esp. since there was blood in her stools.  I would take her to a dr and explain what is going on and let a the dr examine her just to be safe.  Good luck

My DH did the same thing around 3 years old. When I told the doctor he explained it to me this way..The clitoris is very sensitive and when it is touched it feels "good" it sounds dirty talking about a child but thats how he explained it. I had the same problem with my son. He would touch himself until he became erect. I would just keep explaining to her we don't do that and it's not nicde to touch other people. It was a phase and it passed after a few weeks.
