8 weeks pregnant, sonogram showed earlier

First time here.......This is my first pregnancy. The date of my LMP was 9/25/09. I missed my period, called my doctor's office and set up an appointment for 11/20/09. Theoritically I was 8 weeks-exactly. However the doctor explained to me that I was earlier. He showed me the baby, the sac and the heartbeat, but said there was really "nothing to see" and that I need to come back for another sonogram in 10 days. I was confused because it sounded like all the good things were there. He said he was not "overly concerned"...I was in such a fog so I didnt ask "Is there a concern?"......Was he looking for something that was not there? Is there a big difference between let's say a 7 week and 8 week sonogram? Anyway just hoping for some feedback.

Im glad you posted a reply.......I had read a lot of your posts!!! My doctor did say that it's possible that I ovulated later. Thanks for being positive, because ofcourse I'm wondering if this is a precurser to a miscarriage. My next appt is 11/30 7:20AM..I wanted the 1st appt!!! I'll keep you posted.

One week can make a huge difference in early pregnancy. You said that your LMP was 9/25, but there could be a chance you ovulated later than you thought. It is very easy to be off a week on your dates. I would try not to worry, though I know that can be easier said than done.

Welcome and keep us posted!
