Hi, Congrats on your pregnancy. I know your scared but everything should be ok.
Have some peace of mind knowing that the Percocets have not caused any birth defects or anything. Your baby is fine as far as the pills are concerned.
DO NOT JUST STOP THE PILLS! the experience of withdrawal can cause a miscarriage.
There are some things to be considered though before you quit taking the pills like how many pills have you been taking daily and how often.
If you have only been taking 2 or 3 a day then you should be ok to stop taking them without any problems.
When you take narcotic pain medications for any length of time you risk having withdrawals when you quit taking them. And any withdrawals you feel, the baby feels.
You need to speak to your doctor/OBGYN about the pills and he or she may want to come up with a plan of taking less and less of them until your off of them completely unless you have to continue taking them. And try to stay away from the soft cheeses and some of the different types of smaller fish until you discuss it with your obgyn first.
Good luck. My children are 16 months apart. My oldest was 6 months old when I got pregnant with my 2nd son. It was like twins for the longest time especially because my older son still doesn't walk or crawl at almost 3 yrs old. :) (long story...physical/mental developmental issues related to Down Syndrome and prior medical problems)
i don't know what effect the pills would have on the developing baby but I would talk to your doc and they should be able to tell you how they may or may not effect your bub - good luck and hope all works out well, you are going to be one busy mummy lol.
