Aeryn finally made it! :) + labor story
On Dec 10th at 10:56 pm, my baby girl Aeryn Mikele was born into this world! Weighing 7lbs 12oz, and was 20 inches long!
I was 40 weeks + 4 days. And around 3:30pm I felt funny, like I knew something was going to happen, so I decided to go lay down for a nap. A few minutes into the nap I started getting this tightening cramp in my lower abdomen that would be there for only 30 secs so I started timing them and they were ever 2 1/2 minutes! But i wasn't in extreme pain like I thought is what happened when you went into labor.. I was confused but nevertheless told my bf that I think its time and we got ready and left for the hospital arriving at about 4:15 pm. I had already been almost 4 cm dilated & 90% effaced before I went into labor, by the time I got there I was 4.5 cm. My contractions had become 1 1/2 min apart, and by 7:30pm I was 6.5cm, and honestly I was handling the pain like a champ, everyone thought I was weird. Cause I would just sit there and scrunch of my face lol. By 8pm I then became 8cm! Now I planned on going all natural and not getting any pain meds. But honestly even though I was dealing with the pain well, it was ruining the experience for me, I didnt wan't to have to deal with the pain anymore I wanted to enjoy the birth of my baby. (The doctors said I was doing great - progressing extremely fast and not making a sound! Lol) So at 9pm and at 8cm they broke my water and gave me the epidural. Boy did I frickin love life after that lol. I was so happy. by 10 pm I was 10 cm, and it was time to push! I had my bf in there holding my leg and I was in such a great mood I let my mom and aunt (whos bday it was also!) in there to watch,and I had a mirror so I could watch. Quite honestly I had a blast and loved everyone who was in there. We had to have NICU in there because she pooped in the sac and they had to make sure she was okay (which she was). But the whole time I was pushing all of, my family, bf, the nurses and doctor.. were all watching the show Conspiracy Theory with Jessie Ventura and just making fun of him.. and how he looked better bald.. blah blah.. It was a blast. I had so much fun and enjoyed the whole experience. After 7 hours of labor and 1 hour of pushing, Aeryn was born perfectly healthy and I didnt tear! Doctor and nurses said I'm an abnormal mom. Can't remember why exactly.. but I've been being told that my for about a month now and now different doctors said that too. lol. Cause of how I was progressing, how fast she came, how I dealt with pain. They said it was all weird, especially for a FTM. lol. I said its cause I was born to have a babies and be a mom!! Lol.

Lol. Always best to expect the worst! I went in expecting the best with my first and had quite the opposite experience! This one i hope is MUCH better!

Congratulations! I think I can speak for all of us in saying I am very jealous/envious of you labor and hope it goes that smoothly for me!
