Hospital deposit?

Called to get pre-registered with hospital to be induced this Monday was told that I would need to pay a $500 deposit sometime before then. First I've heard of this. Probably won't be able to come up with the extra cash by Monday.  Will they turn me away or can they bill me the deposit when I go in? I keep trying to find out for sure but everyone I talk to at the pre-registry phone number just says, "I think you'll be fine to go in without." anyone knowfor sure?

I have insurance. The lady I spoke to says it's a standard deposit they charge in case your insurance doesn't cover everything. didn't have this with my first they just billed anything extra after (though different hospital). don't have any complications this pregnancy just getting induced at 39 weeks so wasn'tsure if they could just turn me away

It's illegal for a hospital to turn you Away. They'll probably just bill you.
