Most hospitals have temporary health plans for women that are expecting so you don't end up without any help.
Thats not good :/ You can't try and sign up for medicaid? I know they take a while to accept or decline
:( I just had my "phone interview." So, idk how long this will be. Also, everyone keeps telling me I've dropped already. I'm hoping, the hospital I end up at... Has a plan like the first woman had said...
Kinda nerve wrecking.
Also if you are pregnant and you qualify for medicaid they give you emergency medicaid which just means you don't have to wait forever to get it, you will receive benefits right away.
Medicaid also pays from the date you apply so if you did had the baby they would still cover the hospital stay if youre approved
I had health insurance from my previous employer but moved to GA. And no longer had it. I didn't have health insurance in my new state and I needed to go to the emergency room and they noticed I didn't have it. (My new work made us wait 90 days in order to receive it.) So they applied me for medicaid and it took two weeks before a DHS agent called me. When I was talking to them on the phone I got approved that day. And they gave me my medicaid number over the phone before I received my medicaid card.
I think I wait a week before an agent called. I don't truly recall it. I just know it was fast and I was approved right away. I went to www.compass.ga.gov.com to complete some documentation for medicaid. You might want to find out the what the website name is in your state.
Normally when you do a phone interview they take 30 days but since your so close to your due date they should expedite the process so you don't go without insurance. You have to stay on top of them or it will take a while
Loll. Move to Canada. Love it.
+.+ don't test me.
I'll let them know. :(
I mean, just now when I said I was pregnant, he didn't ask me how far I am. +.+
I applied for Medicaid although I already have insurance but my insurance doesn't cover the baby, does Medicaid cover the baby as well? Or do I need to apply for Medicaid for my unborn child so I don't get slammed with medical bills...i am so confused and my dhs agent will not answer or return my phone calls
If you get accepted for medicade, as soon as the baby is born you have to call and let them no. Then bring in the birth certificate and the baby will be covered
Wow! Ughhh so annoying. I miss my military insurance
