Thats different! oh wow. good luck buying it all when baby is here!!! Everyone has different opinions in terms of what to buy and when.... Im not superstitious at all. I only have one belief and that is God. I know whats meant to be will be regardless of whether you buy things at 2 months, at 8 months.....  Its all the same to me. Prior to ultrasound i didnt buy anything.

I'm going with Jewish tradition and we are not bringing ANY baby things into our house prior to delivery. No diapers, no crib nothing. So as for what I have bought it would be nothing.

I'm 26 weeks and just bought one cloth AIO diaper last week. I only bought it to show my husband how they work. People have been giving me things since about 14 weeks. I wouldn't allow any baby stuff in my house before then because I was just nervous. I know that is silly now. Next time I won't worry so much :)
I plan to buy what ever I am missing after my baby showers. I see all kinds of cute things that I want but I'm trying to be conservative. We also are waiting to find out the sex ...so that makes it easier to pass by all the of cutie girl and boy outfits.
I really love hand knitted baby things so, I'm teaching myself to knit right now. I hope to have some sweaters, hats and booties ready for my Winter bundle.

oh i didnt even read the other comments before i posted...i guess every baby is different but i still think its a good idea to have the basics in newborn size...i dunno...my son wore them!

@julia- i guess since ur first was a little peanut then u could expect your second very well could be too so it would prolly be wise for u to get some newborn basics ;)!

Actually Cassandra, about the newborn clothes lasting a week thing, my son fit in his newborn clothes for like a month and a half and he was a pretty average size at birth 7lbs 140z. Everyone told me not to by hardly anything newborn because it wouldnt fit for long...so i didnt and no one else bought me any either...so when he did get here and i saw how freaking tiny he ACTUALLY was i had to go out and by a bunch of onesies and sleepers that actually fit him! so i would stock up on the basics in newborn sizes for that first month...especially onesies because that first month is when they make the biggest messes. the pooping and pee and puke accidents.....plus if you plan to breast feed plenty of accidents happen with accidentally soaking the baby LOL. Anyway, sorry to ramble i just wish i hadnt listened to people when they told me no newborn clothes because it was a real bummer to have to go out sore from giving birth and try and find some basics to buy! Some people might be okay with them wearing the bigger stuff but being a first time mom i was way to freaked out to put him in jammies in his crib that didnt fit snugly...i was worried he'd get them bunched over his face and stuff...or lose his hands in the sleeves and get frustrated!

I started buying diapers right away. Like one pack a week, bought like 2 packs of the same size I think. I bought blankets, and ONZies, bottles, some clothes that was for either a boy or a girl. I think I was about 10 or 11 weeks. I think I started buying diapers right off the bat.

stocking up on diapers, wipes & stuff like that is never a bad idea.  as long as you have a place to store it.

Clothes is another story...  babies grow so quickly.  mine outgrew many outfits before she got a chance to wear em.  Should have returned some & bought larger ticket items...

Before I found out what I was having, I brought the moses basket, cot, swing, formula, clothes (Neutural) wash clothes, bathing stuff, wipes, nappies.
I am getting alot of stuff from my mum as christmas presents..

But now I am gradually buying things as well! :)

It is very exciting to buy baby thing isn't it???
Are you planning to find out if it is a boy or girl?  I preferred buying gender specific items.  I also found out that people you barely know will buy you tons of stuff, as everyone loves baby shopping.  I found myself loaded with things.  so much, I couldn't use a lot of it.  For this reason I plan on only buying my absolute favorite things!  (note the plan on part.  we shall see how that works out)

I had a mc last year, so I'm not going to buy anything until prob 12 weeks... I know You can still miscarry after that, but chances are smaller.

have fun shopping!
