Baby shower hostess gift?

I am wondering how many people get the baby shower host a gift for hosting there baby shower?

If you did what did you get and how much average should I spend on one. I don't have a lot of extra money because BF just stated working again after the broken leg.

I have two people hosting my baby shower so I will need to get two gifts. I just have no idea what to get them.

I never did.  Probably committed some major etiquette faux pas....but my shower was a surprise so, whatever.  Plus, that was almost 4 years ago now....what's done is definitely DONE ;-)

I don't plan on spending more than $20-$25 each gift. I just really have no idea what to get them.  

Was looking for some ideas.

My SIL spent $65 on the invites alone. I was in shock. I can't believe how much invites cost.

That's a good idea....I'll have to keep that in mind. I have a few ppl signing themselves up for mine already so I don't know if I can afford a million gifts for everyone but if you have 2 specific people for the job then yes I would say the same as Annie. About $20 for little things like that. You could always get a gift certificate for a manicure or something too.

I went to Cost Plus World Market, don't know if you have one of those, but it is an import place with a rather exotic and well chosen group of products.  Got one of my hostesses a really pretty basket, done with dark red beads, and the other a box of imported candy wrapped really nicely.  Other things I could have gotten -- body lotion set (also attractively packaged, not junk), nice vases and other things for house, an exotic scarf,  a necklace.  I think I spent about twenty bucks per hostess.  Both hostesses were really wowed ... the hostess gift is something of a rarity and makes you, the giver, look classy.
