I agree with everyone...these test are not always correct. Im sure your baby will be just fine. You and your little one are in my prayers.
I'm sorry you are going through this. I know it must be very scary. But as many have said, there are many false positives with this test. It also happened to my brother and SIL with their first. They had a false positive for Downs. It was borderline though. They retested and it came back normal. My nephew was born very healthy and is now a healthy 5 year old.
You will be in our thoughts and prayers and please keep us posted.....
There are a lot of false readings with those tests! Please keep that in mind as you wait for the 24th to roll around. It takes SPECIAL parents who are STRONG to take care of special needs children. And in all honestly your little one may be perfectly healthy and fine. Don't stress yourself out with unnecessesary stress when everything may be fine!
I know it's hard not to think of the worst but hang in there. It is a very small chance and technology today can perform miracles as far as surgery goes. My older sister was born with spina bifida and that was before parents even had ultrasounds so my parents were surprised at birth. I had more fun with her growing up than my other siblings to be honest. She was the sweetest person I'll ever know. Everything happens for a reason. Hope all works out in the end.
my quad was abnormal and i had extremely HIGH levels of AFP...i refused all the extra testing and my son was born 6lbs 14oz and will be 4 years old in 2 weeks...hes perfectly healthy! just stay positive!
Thanks so much, I wont be getting the amnio regardless of what they find on the u/s, from what i was told they can tell what if anything will need to be done from the u/s...and also she said that the quad screening is only 80% accurate and of those only 1 or 2 babies will actually end up with s/p, I know that I will be able to deal with it, I just wasnt expecting that..honestly I was expecting downs, and thats something I have experience with.....
am really sorry 2 hear that am prego 2 with my 2nd child they told me that my children could get it as i have it i have a slight form of it. i led a very normal life do everything i want to do it doesnt affect me both of my children dont have it. dont let them scare u i no easy said then done am sure everything will b fine good luck and i hope i have helped
Oh, I am sorry you had to hear that. I have heard many of those quad screening tests come out with false positives. If it is important to you to find out I would seriously consider the amnio. I am not sure, but I thought I have seen surgeries on babies intra utero and they had the gap on their backs sewn up. Some were able to function almost as normal once they were born. If you go thru with the amnio and find you do have it, maybe you can look into this surgery
