Birthing Plan

Are any of you ladies having a birthing plan for the day your little one gets here? I'm thinking of having one just cause I want to be very specific and stuff.  and if so, how do I go about talking to my OB about establishing a birthing plan? Do you guys know if I can request to not get pitocin?

My last OB didn't care about my birth plan because he had to get to Galveston before 5pm that day.

I asked my on about working on a birth plan and what things he'd like to see on there and he told me anything I could possibly think of related to baby, my comfort, and my expectations. He said he's wiling to work with whatever I write, within reason of course. I'm willing to message you what I have so far if you'd like?

Thank you so much! That is ALL of the stuff I want to go over! It puts me so much at ease to know that I can at least have some say in certain things!

I made one. I did a rough draft and went over it with my doctor to make sure everything I was planning would be ok with her, she told me about the what ifs and made sure I was aware of everything. and if your not planning on getting induced then you can put on there you don't want any pitocin. other things to have on there are your choice of pain relief, being hooked up to ivs, and monitors. if you want mobility, what position you want to push in, who you want in there, if you want the baby in the room with you at all times, if you plan on breast feeding then specify no bottles or pacis, if it's a boy circumcision or not. and medical procedures that are normal if you want them done or not, if you want to wear your own gown. just talk to your doctor about all your options and understand that things don't always go as planned and that your birthing plan is just that. a plan and not set in stone. (: good luck though.
