My son was sent to an ENT after his pediatrician noted the issues. Poor guy! For him, it was an aggravation from his allergies and possibly, so lovely, during the night trying to itch his sinus cavity. So the turbinates got funky. We did the routine for 2 weeks to shrink them with the hopes it would work (which it did) and he started allergy medication (which should be safe during pregnancy). If it wasn't cleared up . . . he would have possibly had surgery to cauterize the vessels under the sinus cavity. It never came to that, thank goodness. Can you see an ENT?
Hello, congrats on the pregnancy. Appreciate your sharing your experience and hope you come back after the ENT visit. My son has swollen turbinates on the surface of his nasal cavity. This can cause some bleeding in terms of bloody noses or blood tinged mucus. He has allergies. we used a saline wash and then Afrin for only a week (that you'd need to check if you can use when pregnant . . . he is a child and he was okay to use it but it is for short time only). He also started on allergy otc medication that helped. When my sinuses are dry, I get blood tinged mucus/snot as well.
How is your pregnancy going?!!
Ya, blood is not uncommon with a chronic sinus issue. Have you been seen by a doctor for this? Are you pregnant??
