My friend just had her baby at 33 weeks and she was 6 pounds....And perfectly healthy....I had mine at 40+ weeks...they told me that he would be 7- 7 1/2 pounds...he was 5 lbs. 11oz. So your baby may actually be bigger than they think, as this is just a guess...like Joy mentioned. Also, have they checked the baby's lungs?....,This is more important than weight......I'm sure they have that covered though.......LOTS of luck......I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and your little one!!!
the chances of your baby surviving if born now are 95%. if you make it past 34weeks, the chances are almost as good as a full term baby. hope this helps.
just wanted to say good luck and i hope everything goes well for you and the baby. i thought i would reassure you by telling you about my brothers. i have twin brothers and they were born around the 27 week mark. (so pretty much three months early) they were a little over a pound each. but they are 18 now and both doing well. they had a 15% chance of living at the time but they are here with us today. have faith that everything will turn out just fine and it will. hope the preemie forum gives you some support also. : ) from what i've read and heard it is possible to have him or her at 32 weeks without many complications. i mean, if it can be done at 27 weeks why not 32 weeks right? i wish you all the best!
Well his weight sounds promising but it's just an estimation (they can be off by a pound). He may have gained so much weight from all the medications you've had to take. It's hard to know how a baby will react once they get here.
I do believe we have a Preemie Forum here on MedHelp but not sure how busy it is and if you'll get any other thoughts or opinions:
