Changing doctors

I'm almost 30 weeks and I've changed Healthcare insurance.
My husband and I want to change our doctor for a few reasons: the hospital is a long ways to go, she's vague when answering my questions, visits take a while to see her (even when I'm on time), the visits are short (feels like she doesn't care.) I'm still with the high-risk doctors because of my last pregnancy (4 years ago, i lost an angel at full-term..) but this pregnancy is going smoothly and normally. I feel as if my last pregnancy makes this doctor a little complacent about my current one.. Plus, when I see her, she always talks about me going to the er when I get any signs of pregnancy, and that baby has a high chance of survival if born early. So.. I don't think she plans to be there for the birth.. which is not reassuring. I know it would be unlikely, but it would be nice to feel the support of the doctor that has been watching my little one grow in my belly.

Any way, my question is; Would it be possible for me to switch doctors this late in the pregnancy?

I'm in the same boat as you. I'll be 30 weeks in another week and I've been trying to change my Dr as well. He's very vague and takes quite a while to see me. Maybe he's running around from patient to patient but anyhow the hospital that I'll be admitted to is a bit further than I would've liked so that was my main reason for wanting to switch but they say going through the transfer process takes a few weeks and I just decided to stick through it cause it'll be over soon. :)

Yes it'll just be harder because your current dr knows what's goin on, like you said and the new dr is guna hafta go by what the former dr and yourself say. But if your not happy then by all means change it. I wouldn't want a dr to take care of me but not wana be there for the birthing of my child. Call around and see if you find any. Good luck ")

Probably not, it's a bit late in the pregnancy to change doctors. You could try though, good luck :)
