OPINIONS PLEASE !!!
so ... I'm really curious to know what color eyes my son will have.
YES I know babies usually come out with blue or gray eyes till about 3 months.
And YES IM VERY AWARE THAT NO ONE CAN GIVE ME A CORRECT ANSWER, this is pretty much all for fun.(;
My boyfriend has blue eyes. Both his parents have colored eyes. My mom has green eyes. Two of my brothers have hazel eyes. Me and one of my other brothers came out with brown eyes!
I'm curious to know everyone's opinions or input. Maybe even some of your stories?!
Or even if someone knows how those genetics work!

Yeah my bf is German and Irish. I'm Irish, Mexican, and Native American. I get tan but for the most part I'm light skinned. I'm sure he'll come out light but I really want him to have his dad's eyes ;) lol
Theres a chance that baby could take after your mothers eyes. My sister in laws eyes are brown, her husbands are brown but her moms are green. Her first 2 kids came with brown eyes and her third came out with green eyes. :)
But, it has a lot to do with dominant and recessive traits. I havent been in biology class for YEARS so my memory is horrible, but it sounds like most of your family on both sides have colored eyes so theres a very high probability of your son having an eye color other than brown. :)
One rule is 2 blue eyes can not have a brown eye but 2 brown eye can have a blue eyes
My younger son has hazel eyes. I have blue, husband blue and his brother blue. My whole side o the family (and I mean EVERYONE) has blue. My husband's side has a lot of brown eyes. I love my son's hazel eyes . . . they are a little magical. :>)
And with a mom and dad who have blue eyes, I was surprised at my son's eye color. We thought he had brown eyes for a long time. They can look light brown. When they are blue or bluish green, they always have a golden brown ring around his pupil. Funky! He gets lots of compliments on his eyes.

My brother has hazel and his wife has brown their oldest son came out dark hair dark eyes and my youngest nephew came out with blonde hair green eyes literally looks just like my mom it's so random!! I'm so curious to find out what he'll look like!! Can't wait! (: thank you all !!!<3

My husband is dark with brown eyes and im very white with grey eyes and my son is a perfect mix of both. He has light greenish brown eyes with blond hair and tans like daddy. I swear he got the best of both worlds. The whole recessive domininent gene thing isn't quite as cut and dry as they teach in school.
Oh and my sister in law is the same as my husband dark skin dark hair dark eyes and her first son is just like her but the second is very very white with red hair and blue eyes.
Sgulia your son sounds so handsome <3 def the best of both worlds! My little brother has a different dad my mom blonde hair green eyes and my stepdad is black but he came out a caramel complexion curly light brown hair and hazel eyes! I'm so jealous of his eyes lol he got the lightest ones!
Omh I'm curious to my husband is white, German, Irish and his whole family have blue eyes but my husband eyes changed from really light blue to like a ocean blues at night if that makes sense lol. I'm Black and and my family have dark brown eyes so hopefully my baby gets his eyes:)
Breonna, my mom is white and Native American. Blonde hair green eyes most of her family has green or hazel eyes with blonde or light brown hair.. My stepdad is black and my little brother came out with hazel honey brown eyes! He's a light caramel complexion and has light brown curly curly hair lol. He's 16 now but I read his year book and some little girl wrote "you really do look like Blake griffin" (the basketball player) literally died of laughter ahah ahaha was so cute
Aww lol yeah hopefully my baby grt pretty eyes. I wish i did lol.. And the hair i would prefer minr which is dark brown brcuase my husband hair well his while hair is a mix of red, blonde and brown so no lol thats to much going on.. But i would takr hazel eyes or any color over dark brown..
Yeah I have brown eyes sometimes they'll get light in the son but for the most part just brown :/ I hate it! I'm really hoping he has hazel or blue eyes :) ahh I wish August would hurry!!!
Awww I'm sure you've heard this before but it'll honestly FLY by! I feel like I just found out yesterday now the days feel so slow for me. I'm sooo uncomfortable can barley sleep my ribs are sore from getting kicked so hard (sorry totally venting lol :((( ) do you know what you're having yet?
Yeah everyone says that but something must be wrong with me because it isn't happening lol. Ill be 12 weeks tomorrow and i had a ultrasound at 11 weeks but its way to early. I was schedule to come in 14 weeks to see but since my doctor loves vacations smh I'll go in at 13 weeks. So hopefully the good news will say its a girl lol
Given that you have brown but others in your family have light eyes, that tells us you have one dominant and one recessive trait. Your boyfriend has entirely recessive.
Based on a Punnet square you would have 50/50 chance of light vs dark. The only tricky part is that green is dominant to blue so I would say you're most looking at green to hazel.

Lol its driving me nuts too because my mom, my bf, both his parents, his other two kids, my sister, and my bfs brothers and their kids all have blue eyes but i have brown and so does my dad and grandma lol
Breonna, once you find out the gender things will go by quicker then you can finally shop and start planning a baby shower and such! I wanted a girl soooo bad and everyone was like you're gonna have a boy and sure enough it was a boy ;) lol I'm actually really happy my baby is a boy even though girls are more fun to shop for!
