23 weeks pregnancy--VSD detected in Anomaly Scan

Hello,
I did my Anomaly scan on 23 weeks and 4 days of my pregnancy. My doctor detected a 2 mm(or little less) VSD for my baby.
My doctor has advised me to do the scan again for the heart after 3-4 weeks.
It is my 1st baby so I am little worried.
Please let me know if this VSD has any impact on my baby or its activities in future.

VSD is a very common heart defect. One that is 2mm in size is small and a hole smaller than 3-4mm in size will all close on their own at some point early on in life. To my understanding, there is nothing that really needs to be done and it doesn't require surgery. Because it's small it also is likely to not have any symptoms or adverse effects because the heart doesn't have to work harder. I know it sounds scary, but it's highly likely that everything will work out perfectly fine. After your next scan speak to your doctor about any other concerns you might have, and be sure to ask the questions that you have asked here. They might be able to explain things in better detail.
