Diaper shower or welcome home partyy?

My mom wants do throw something for the baby but was planning on having a diaper shower the 29th. I'll be almost 38 weeks and I think it's kinda pushin it. So I suggested a welcome home party. After the baby is born. That way everyone doesn't have to come to the hospital to see the baby. Which do u girls think is a better idea. I'm not having a baby shower cuz this is my second boy and we didn't need much. But we still wanna celebrate a new baby.

I'm having a diaper and wipes shower after my baby is born the guests will bring diapers and wipes I think I'll be too protective to let anyone hold my baby "look but don't touch" lol

Yea that was one if my first thoughts too. I just figured I'd tell everyone no haha. And they could deal with it. I was let that with my first son too. Didn't let anyone hold him besides grandparents. My fiance mom got so mad cuz I wouldn't let his sis hold him till he was like 1. But she was only 12 and I was scared shed drop him.

I think a diaper shower only because I would have a problem with alot of people holding my baby not knowing if they are sick or becoming sick or anything.
