Honey, raw eggs and some seafood are some of the main foods to stay away from during pregnancy. Enjoy your pregnancy. I see no need to avoid the foods you enjoy (pizza, cake, cookies, pop, candy, chocolate etc.) unless you are having complications during pregnancy. Moderation is key. As long as the majority if your diet is healthy, I think indulging is very much okay.
wow you can't say c rap? lol
I agree with Joy...You really just have to try to stick with as healthy of a lifestyle as possible. Your Dr. should be able to give you a list of things to steer clear of. This is my first pregnancy and it really helped to have something there to reference if i had any questions. I think it is great to eat as healthy, but i also feel that if you want a piece of cake every now and then go for it. Everything in moderation!!
Diets are usually associated with trying to lose weight.
I think the best way to phrase it is to have a healthy eating lifestyle. Whole grains, fresh fruits and veggies, low-fat dairy, lean proteins. Ditch the chips, soda, processed foods, etc. And drink milk and water. Juice can be full of unnecessary sugar, unless it is 100% fruit juice (NOT from concentrate and without corn syrup). I like OJ a lot but I buy the real stuff, not Sunny Delight.
There are some things to steer clear from: raw, undercooked and unpasteurized foods, deli meat, some seafood, etc.
Taking an extra folic acid is really good for baby, especially in early pregnancy, along with a prenatal vitamin.
my diet while pregnant was eat whatever they want. and thankfully that was mainly fruits and vegs. till the end...then it was **** **** ****. yeah...chips, ice cream, cake, cookies, chocolate......wings, fries, pizza, big macs (omg i could eat 5 big macs at a time and not even think about it)
