Something that really helped me stay off of them was carrying an u/s pic with me. Everytime I had a bad craving, I pulled out that picture..it helped me remember why I wasn't smoking. The other thing I carried was a list of all the reasons I didn't want to smoke. When a craving hits, wait 10 minutes and as smj said, do something else. It will pass. Great job! It's a tough addiction to break and you should be really proud of yourself.
Also well done for quitting :) everytime you have a cigarette, you cut off 40% of the oxygen going to your baby
You said it better than I could have! Awesome advice SMJMEKG!!!
Be St of luck to you JANETSULLIVAN82!
What about them are you craving? Is it the stress getting to you and wanting one to calm your nerves? The taste? If you're getting stressed and wanting one, try to give yourself a time out from what's stressing you, if it's work, go sit in the bathroom for a few minutes or step away from what you're doing, clear your mind or think about something that makes you happy. When you've calmed down a little go back to what it is you're doing, sometimes it helps when you're stressed about something to step back for a little while and go back. Kind of like putting together a puzzle, you get to a point where you're not finding any matches, or getting frustrated and you step away come back a little while later and BAM! You're finding fitting pieces left and right. Give yourself a break...
Every time you want a cigarette do something to take your mind off of it, if you sit there and just think about it the cravings will get worse. I have a serious problem when it comes to chocolate. I mean a serious problem. And anytime I want it when I don't have it i do something with the kids or go out side and it takes my mind off of it! You're doing awesome to be away from cigs this long! Congrats on that but remember you are growing a baby and that gift is more precious than anything!
