gender disappointment

Has anyone experienced gender disappointment with Their first baby?  My side of the family is pressuring me that they won't be happy unless its a girl and my husbands side is a little sexest and kinda only wants a boy. I still don't know what I'm having yet and i feel stressed and pressured. I feel if i have a boy then they are going to make rude comments like thank God its not a girl, :/ especially BC that's what I'm kinda hoping it is. I'll be fine with either one as long as it Is healthy but I'm worried :( help, thoughts, anything?

I was disappointed,  our family was thrilled. I really wanted and had my heart and mind set in on a girl, so when I found out it was a boy, I was quiet shocked and sad for a while.  I am coming around, but there are times I still wish it was a girl. I am sure all of that will quickly fade when he gets here.

Thanks guys, i feel better now. I agree they shouldn't be saying anything like that but they do, once baby is born i hope none of this will matter, at last my hubby is on the same page, but at first he really wanted a girl

honestly once they see that baby the will not care one bit about what gender it is....they may be a little disappointed but that's their problem not yours....don't worry about what they feel it your baby and your the one who has to take care of it and love it , they'll come around to whatever it is and if they don't you don't need their support anyways....

Maybe you shouldn't tell either side what you are having and when the baby gets here they will love the baby whether a boy or girl.

We can't choose what we have so they just need to sit down. This is your pregnancy

They should support whatever you want. I was disappointed and depressed when I found out I was having a little boy. I wanted a little girl so bad. I already have one boy. My husband was happy but it took me a month or two to get happy.

I didn't care as long as they were healthy. I think it's immature to worry about something that trivial!

I think that's totally sexist. your the one carrying this child as well as going through all the complications & giving birth to this child. what everyone else wants is their own concern. if they want a girl or boy tell them to have their own child. as long as your baby is healthy & has 10 fingers & 10 toes TRUST whatever it is you'll be happy.
