I think they tell the truth, when they say things like they don't think you will make it till the last weekend. Maybe that's what they think, but they can't actually determine that because every woman is different with every pregnancy. Some can dilate super quick, some don't.
I would like to think they tell us the truth.. It is kinda mean to tell you something is happening when its not
A midwife is trained to know the same things as a doctor and in reality giving birth is not necessarily a medical emergency bc a women's body is naturally designed to give birth so unless your high risk or need an unnecessary c section you really dont need a dr a midwifes training us just as good
Woah, wasnt being rude. No need to jump down my throat was there.
@mrsconnelly...not saying they can PREDICT anything. But they ARE TRAINED...to know certain things. And not just TELL us whatever. (this is not about ...rushing for baby)..it is about the truth. ..and how they make some of us feel.
They say a baby will come when there ready so really only a doctor can guide. There not miricle workers! But the c-section situation isnt the same over here and it seems to be there...neither is the epidural.
Yesss I totally agree they can careless its not them they're just doing it for a paycheck
I can really tell...alot of them are terrible actors. That can careless...
I think they tell you...what they think you want to hear. I really wonder how many are genuine. Mostly...when i go to er..while pregnant ..to be checked...they ask me "what did my doctor say..."'...And i rather play stupid....just to see if they are REALLY doing their jobs ..
Ibthink drs say anything just to give you a c section. The percentage of unecessary c sections is very high in America and a lot if them are because of pitocin being given to speed up a labor that is naturally gonna progress but they have a 12 time limit to get ypu delivered and moved out of L&D so your given pitocin which stresses they baby because of harsh contractions and the baby heart rate drops or the labor comes to a haultthus rresulting in a c section and more money from insurance. (Rant)
Yes. They tell you what they think is true, meaning they can be wrong sometimes.
I've kind of wondered, or when they tell you oh your 3cm you probably won't make it till this weekend and then you make it way past that. I'm like do they say it to be nice or what cuz it's kind of disappointing lol. I went into labor with my last pregnancy at 37 wks and I was having a c section all I went to the hospital and the Dr on call wouldn't deliver me but was like oh you could be back later tonight if this progress quick enough. I was in labor for 3 days till I seen my ob who said oh ya you are in labor no point in that since your having a c section let's deliver her. I think they just say what they think you want to hear.
