You need to bring:

-PROOF OF PREGNANCY (do not forget this one! A note from your doctor is sufficient, must have your due date on it)
-Your I.D.
-Proof of income (pay stubs)
-Proof of residency
-Social Security Number
-Birth Certificate
-Any other insurance information that you have (if you have another insurance)

I think that's about it. Not sure about the income limits. If it comes down to it, you may have to pay a LITTLE premium every month. It just depends. The only way to know is to apply! GOOD LUCK!

Wow! I can't believe that in California the income limit is $750 a month!! thats like NOTHING!! and between 2 people?? I dont think you should try to get hubby on medicaid.. it would only increase your chances of getting rejected.  You should try focusing on yourself and the baby first and then after you are approved maybe try getting hubby approved too, I think its a lot easier to get approved if you are pregnant (at least it was pretty easy for me, and I make pretty good money..)

But like everyone else said, it differs from state to state.

It depends state to state.  And what kind of medicaid you are getting.  if its the full blown medicade then that includes your partner, but if your just pregnancy medicade then thats just you!  Just look up for your state.

I know here in Nebraska, I filled out the medicaid paperwork and had my hubby bring it to the office.  He was told by the woman who took my papers that they'd get back to me in 7-10 business days.  But when I called yesterday to check on its status a woman told me that they're very backed up and it will probably take a lot longer (21 days)!  Ugh!

I don't know the exact qualifications to be approved for Medicaid.  Currently, there are three of us living off of hubby's salary ...himself, me, and his son.  He makes about $1600-1800 a month after taxes.  We can pretty much pay our bills ...and that's it.  So, instead of paying a couple bills, we decided to *eat* for that month.  lol

Best thing you can do is Google " medicaid" ...it should direct you to your state's Health and Human Services Dept.  You can find the number of a local branch and call them to ask what you need to do to apply.  Usually you can find the forms you need to fill out on their website.

Good luck to you ...I hope you can get your Medicaid!!

In California I'm pretty sure you automatically get it if your pregnant. What you would need is your birth certificate (if you aren't from California) your past 2 pay stubs, recent bank statement, social security card, notice of where you live signed by a non-relative, a signed document from your work stating your income and how long you have worked there (and for your husband as well), registration and how much you still owe on your car, letter from your doctor stating due date. I think there are some other things but I can't remember what they are.

I looked it up and it says that in california for a family of two the monthly income limit is $750. To qualify, the family's monthly income (after child care and working expense) must be $750 or less. I'm not sure if they changed it recently but that was all I could find.
