Father just passed away

And I'm 39+4 and still no sign of him coming anytime soon. I'm dilated to a 1 and 80% effaced but haven't had a single contraction. I just want my little boy to be here to help me deal with the pain and loss.. I really don't want to get induced and would much rather him come on his own. Any of you mommies just have labor spring on you while thinking your baby wasn't going to come soon ? I need some hope, just getting depressed waiting and being miserable.. :(

BTW I'm so sorry for your loss, I hope you find peace in knowing your father is watching over you and your baby boy. Good luck momma.

When I had my first I was due Jan 16, a couple days before Christmas I went to the doc and was not dilated or thinned out at all. On new years eve I woke up having contractions and was in full blown labor. My son was born at 725 pm on new years eve 2011. It just happened with no warning.

Well, first, let me say that I am very sorry about the passing of your dad.  That is so painful to lose a parent.  Every woman and every pregnancy is different.  Many women do go over their due date.  I don't know if you will or not.  This is one of those things that we don't have that much control over.  Doctors don't like to induce for first time moms because there is a higher rate of then needing a c section, so docs do tend to let first tie moms go over.  Hang in there.  Your baby will be here soon and again, very sorry for your loss.  peace
