They did my sons the 2nd day and I left hospital on the 3rd day n he was fine
Really?? I will just have to see then . I want my sons surgery to be done right then & there.
Doctors usually will want to do them as early as possible. My doctors refuse to do it after five days after birth, and another doctor I was going to go through would only let the baby up to two weeks old be circumcised.
Yeah the hospital asked me if I wanted it done and I said yes and when he came back he had it done. They had called my doctor and he came in did it. But I'd just ask thats what happened for me tho .
Wow , Maybe I should talk to my midwife tomorrow at my scheduled appt .
My baby's doctor I ment to do it .. the earliest you do it the better cause they dont know and it heals so fast .
Yeah I just do that n I didn't even think about it and thank god the hospital asked me .
Ya they generally do it on the second day. If you wait that long you may require the baby to have anesthesia which is dangerous that young.
Both of my sons has it done the day after they were born and medicaid coved it all. My sons pediatrician always recommend it to be done asap that's why they didn't it the day after since they were born late in the day and the pediatrician was as only there till 5, it was a very quick procedure and was done right at the hospital I got to see then right after it was done.
Its not a surgery... And the sooner the better. My first son was 10 weeks early and they wouldn't do it because of how small he was. So after he was discharged to come home a month later he got chubbier and was able to get it done.I went back with him when he got it done and it is not a surgery they gave him a shot for pain and swelling right above the penis and they used a clamp looking thing over top it and twist around the tip of the penis and cut the skin off. It looks very painful and my Lil boy was screaming and I was in tears! But I still plan on having it done to my second son.
They mostly cry because they don't like be held down honestly.
Thanks you guys for this(: it was very informative .
The dr will ask you after the baby is born, if they don't ask you, you need to ask them. They will do it before you leave the hospital.
