I have had two and will be having my 3rd in December. Recovery isn't that bad but it is uncomfortable , make sure you take your medicine when needed and rest as much as you can. Walking helps heal too, they told me the more I walked the faster if feel better. You will be on bed rest for 6-12 hours depending on your hospitals rules. I never breast fed my boys and honestly I don't think it helps you heal faster. The first week is the hardest cause you don't realize how much you really use your tummy muscles until you have surgery on it! Just listen to your body and rest when you can ! Good luck!

I had a emergency c section in 2011 I didnt think the healing process was that bad at all. I breastfed my son for 7 months. ( breastfeeding helps you recover faster). I got to the hospital already in labor dialated to a 6. They gave me a catheder.  And rushed me to the surgery room gave me a spinal tap and next thing I know my little guy had arrived! He was breech that's why I had a csection. I will be having another one in 5weeks 3 days. Good luck!

I had to have an IV awhile ago because I wasn't feeling my son move, so I went to the ER and then they told me to go to the hospital since I was like 30 some weeks (but don't remember exactly what week I was at)... anyway I went to the hospital and got wheeled up to Labor & Delivery.. the nurses asked me a bunch of questions after I went to the bathroom and got in the hospital gown and put on the monitors to check my sons heartbeat and to record the contractions... time passed by and my nurse brought in an IV bag, I'm not a big fan of needles so my fiancé at the time whose now my husband held my hand while the nurse started my IV... She gave me a numbing shot before she stuck the IV in my wrist and that kinda hurt a little bit but only lasted for like a minute... sorry this is long but hope it helps you
