Foods

Im worried about what foods ive been eating. I work in a deli at woolworths so im always eating deli meats. And I know I ate alot of prawns before I found out I was preg and ive had the odd few recently. Im 11 Weeks. What does eating the wrong foods do? Im craving camembert and brie so badly but I know you shouldnt eat them? Also before I was pregnant I never used to drink water. Very bad I know. But I could go a couple days without having any. Im trying to drink alot now but its not happening. So some is alot better than none right? Im so scared im doing the wrong things.

I remember hearing or reading abt microwaving lunch meat when I was prego with my first...have always done this since..;-) plus I really enjoy hot sandwiches anyway..on pregnancy #4 n have had no problems this far with lunch meats..plus abt feta..its fine as long as its pasturized..I get mine at a local import store n specify I want pasturized..;-) my husbands family is Syrian so we eat a lot of grape leaves with feta chs..can't go without this. And water is very important!! It keeps me regular, helps keep my raging appetite down, and is good for baby!!

I've been eating some deli meats just not a lot of it, just once and a while.  but the soft cheese rule it really hard!  all I wanted for a while was feta... and your not supposed to have feta.   I did avoid it but I also found some where that as long as it was pasturized it was ok for you to eat.  You may want to ask your Dr though.

I ignore the deli meat rule too. I still eat it but just limit your intake. Definitely stay away from the soft cheeses though.

Deli meats and soft cheeses unless cooked you run the risk if listeria which is a very harmful bacteria to the baby.  I wouldn't risk it.  As far as other foods fish twice a week because of mercury content.  No raw fish no oysters.  Just use common sense mostly.  If its not cooked don't eat it.  As far as water intake if u don't drink it you will get major constipation.  Good luck to u

deli meats and salads can have bacteria in them which can cause food poisening, deli hygiene is a big thing, I personally still eat the shaved ham etc just not alot, I stay well away from the salads, but olives etc are fine, also prawns are ok as well as long as they have been cooked properly, I would buy green then cook them, stay away from the ones that are nearly put on sale due to date issues, yep its hard keeping away from the soft cheeses but try and be strong, stay away from soft serve cones and also smoked mussels/oysters (canned ok), as for water, you really need to get that fluid into you as it helps with the amniotic fluid levels which are extremely important, if you cant stomach straight water, why not try herbal t's or flavouring your water with a little lime cordial, bunderim ginger make a good concentrate that you can put in water, also try mineral water with the lemon/lime or ginger stuff in it, you will also find yourself getting constipated as well if you dont up your fluid intake, which leads to another set of ouchy problems :)
