H1N1 and pregnancy

It is recommended that pregnant women recieve the H1N1, as well as regular, flu shot during pregnancy.  Here is quote from Dr Enoch Choi on a recent thread regarding this important topic.

"Why does CDC advise pregnant women to receive the 2009 H1N1 influenza (flu) vaccine (shot)?

Getting the flu shot is the single best way to protect against the flu. It is important for a pregnant woman to receive both the 2009 H1N1 flu shot and the seasonal flu shot. A pregnant woman who gets any type of flu has a greater chance for serious health problems. Compared with people in general who get 2009 H1N1 flu (formerly called “swine flu”), pregnant women with 2009 H1N1 flu are more likely to be admitted to hospitals. Pregnant women are also more likely to have serious illness and death from 2009 H1N1 flu.

When a pregnant woman gets a flu shot, it can protect both her and her baby. Research has found that pregnant women who had a flu shot get sick less often with the flu than do pregnant women who did not get a flu shot.  Babies born to mothers who had a flu shot in pregnancy also get sick with flu less often than do babies whose mothers did not get a flu shot."

None of my doctors have even mentioned it to me or pushed it on me. I've seen a GP and my fertility clinic and not once have they mentioned it to me.

What is thimerisol???? This is why i am so up in the air about it. I really do not know what to believe, i understand it is very dangerous, but i also hear it is not easy to get, then i hear that the Vaccine is almost the same as the other reg one, then i hear is has Mercury and Illegal Substance in it. So what to believe, i do know that one side is not completely telling the truth. it pisses me off. Then i hear you can't get sick from a non-live Vaccine, then i have hear of people getting sick!! What the heck! I dont know, my husband does not want me to get it. But my Dr does. Who knows!!!!! Damned if i do....Damned if i don't!

IT's not worth the side effects. your chances of dieing of swine flu are almost half as likely as regular seasonal flu. the statistics go something like this ... " of the people who contracted seasonal flu last year, 0.1% of them died. Of the people who contracted swine flu this year in other populations, 0.007% of them died." I have read relentlessly on this subject. IT IS documented that the main ingredient in this new vaccine is MERCURY. we can't eat more than one can of tuna a week but we can accept such a large single dose in a vaccine that will "help" us? they don't even test for swine flu at the hospital! it's NOT avain flu -which DOES kill! our unborn children already have a 1 in 500 shot of being born with autism, why risk anymore? mercury is linked to a whole host of CNS defects, not only in unborn children but adults too! it WILL increase your risks for all sorts of things like dementia, Alzheimer's, and MS. I plead with my family members not to be so foolish .... please please weigh the risks before you trust something blindly that hasn't been tested!

I agree with you 110 percent!  Not to mention the seasonal flu does kill alot of people, 90% of them being 65 and older.  This new one is almost exact opposite, 90% being younger healthy people.

Also wanted to let you know I got my H1N1 vaccine about an hour ago.  Do they have it near you yet?
