H1N1 and pregnancy

It is recommended that pregnant women recieve the H1N1, as well as regular, flu shot during pregnancy.  Here is quote from Dr Enoch Choi on a recent thread regarding this important topic.

"Why does CDC advise pregnant women to receive the 2009 H1N1 influenza (flu) vaccine (shot)?

Getting the flu shot is the single best way to protect against the flu. It is important for a pregnant woman to receive both the 2009 H1N1 flu shot and the seasonal flu shot. A pregnant woman who gets any type of flu has a greater chance for serious health problems. Compared with people in general who get 2009 H1N1 flu (formerly called “swine flu”), pregnant women with 2009 H1N1 flu are more likely to be admitted to hospitals. Pregnant women are also more likely to have serious illness and death from 2009 H1N1 flu.

When a pregnant woman gets a flu shot, it can protect both her and her baby. Research has found that pregnant women who had a flu shot get sick less often with the flu than do pregnant women who did not get a flu shot.  Babies born to mothers who had a flu shot in pregnancy also get sick with flu less often than do babies whose mothers did not get a flu shot."

Sorry it was one person in BC. And like I said, I have 20 some family members who all have had it and they are fine. I heard there was like 2000 people who died from the flu but it wasnt unknown if it was swine flu or the regular flu. Im not completely against it, if you want it go for it but there is no way Im getting it. You REALLY have to worry when the government is making **** like that mandatory to get. Holocaust opportunity much?

more than one person has died from the swine flu like rebekah385 said in the U.S. 100 children and more adults have died. and yeah more people have died from the regular flu. but they are mostly older people and people that dont have good imune systems. the swine flu is going after young healthy people.and who knows how many people are gonna die from it, it's not even flu season yet. people need to realize how serious this is. and sorry if Im very opinionated. thats just how i feel. please dont hold it against me.

No one said they are the same thing. It's a different strand. And the regular flu kills an average of 36,000. Swine flu has not.

More than one person has died from the swine flu 100 children (in the us), so far not counting even more adults than that. the regular flu does not kill as many people as fast. they are not the same thing.
