Thanks for the support ladies..I'm gonna do it. I'm going natural. I'm only gonna tell my husband and mom because like you all said I don't want my friends and co-workers to try m talk me out of it. Which they will.
Doulas are very helpful and that is a good start. Most of time back labor is caused by the baby being posterior during labor. The baby usually turns before or during pushing but it can hurt. Most babies are anterior and it isn't a problem. I had back labor but was able to work through it unmedicated. The tub helped a lot!
I recommend childbirth education classes for a natural labor. The more tools you have for pain management, the better your chances to complete a natural birth unmedicated. There are several methods and you can read about them and see which one 'speaks' to you personally. I went with a combo of bradley method and hypnobirthing. I teach childbirth education now because I had such a great and rewarding experience.
Even if things change during labor and you want the epi...at least you are going in with a fighting chance. I think it is much more difficult to go in blind. Childbirth educators teach you about all the scenarios and possible interventions so you can made educated choices too.
Good luck to you! You can do it!
I dont no were you are but here in the uk u can do a birth plan and change it wen your in labour if u want to. I had back labour with my 1st and i was only 17 so i had epidural although i sed thoughout my pregnancy i was going natural, with my 2nd i went natural & im due in 2wk & hoping for another natural labour as im having a home birth, i feel i missed out with my 1st as i didnt feel all the contractions, id say to go natural you can always change Ur mind if it gets to much.
I haven't but my best friend said she wish she would have went natural because the pain wasn't as bad as she thought...she said she got the epi based on what everyone.else was saying...I plan to go natural myself...there are awesome natural birth sites just Google it :).....better to be prepared so no one can talk you out of it...good luck mama!
Back labor is when the contractions pain wraps around to your back. Basically really bad abdominal and back pain.
What exactly is back labor?
With my son I had extreme back labor where the contractions wrapped around my back. I got the epidural and it helped with the pain. I got to sleep and rest before pushing. I had to be told when to push since I couldn't feel the contractions. This time with my daughter it was regular labor I used breathing techniques and squeezed my hubby's hand and after 2-3 hours of labor(contractions) I felt the urge to push I let the nurses know and with 3 pushes my daughter was out.
Have an open mind for anything that can happen.
