ladies who didnt have the epidural

Hey so I'm wondering what it was like for you to give birth and if you were induced was it terrible pain or was it ok I'm worried about how bad this will hurt but i don't want to have the epidural at all i told my doctor that already and they r inducing me at 39 weeks nd that's only five more days and its starting to.maje me realize how close i actually am to labor nd I'm getting nervous so any stories would help :) thanks

They didn't say anything about pitocin so I hope thats not what they give me but things will work out I'm sure :) thanks for the input :D

Im going natural this time around,,, im not getting induce my baby came on her on last time at 39wks 4days so im hoping this baby will do the same...if you have netflix you need to watch the business of being born...it opened my eyes up to alot of things... I got the epidural it wasnt bad at all but  I didnt like being numb and I couldn't participate with the birth,,,so this time im laboring at home for as long as I can,,, with my first I made to hospital at 4cm contractions every 3-4 mins apart so this time im hoping to wait till im like 6 or 7cm dialated 1-2mins apart,,,the hospital is only 10mins away,,, but meds are meds I heard that pitocin is not no joke they do have other options for inducing labor at the hospital besides pitocin..you might wanna look into that as well anyways however baby gets here hope everything goes welk:)

I had mt daughter last week and had to get induced with pitocin , smh HORRIBLE the pain was bad , I made all the way to 8 cm and couldn't take it anymore , I gave in and got the epidural ! Best of luck to you hun.

Thanks ladies this helps a lot :) definitely not agreeing to any meds for pain though i want to b able to b fully aware of what is going on even if i can't go all natural id like my kid to not b all drugged out when he gets here idk i feel like its bad enough i have to have meds to b induced so i don't wanna have more meds for pains that i know i can handle...i mean i don't take pain meds or meds for heartburn or anything else for that matter unless its my vitamins i don't put anything in pill form into my body the only things i took this whole pregnancy were nausea meds prenatal vitamins and had to have progesterone shots and low dose asprin to keep my son alive :/ so it wasn't easy to go through pregnancy as is for me i just want it to b as natural as possible at the end because i feel like i was robbed of a natural beginning :/ but I've had three miscarriages which is y i needed the meds to begin with :/ but I'm just glad that is all over now maybe things can b more natural when this is all over with :) i just wanna feel like i had something natural with this whole experience

I was induced and the contractions were extremely intense by the time i was 3cm dilated.. Sadly i had to get the epidural. There was down sides i hated but the pain was unbearable and i just couldn't do it without. Good luck! Im hoping to get induced again with this pregnancy. I enjoyed the experience. :)

I had 2 with no meds it did hurt but the nurse was amazing and was putting pressure on my spine massaging my back which took away a lot of pain.... if u can tolerate pain it's not that bad (I don't think) just remember to breath through it good luck

i was induced and got the epidural BUT the darn thing DiD NOT work for me so it was a waste. I felt everything from beggining till the end. I mean labor is very painfull but i did it n u know wat i feel like u appreciate it more bcz u suffer so much n wen ure baby is born they are soo worth it n u feel better n stronger for doing it without the pain meds. So i know i can do it without the epidural wit this baby n im sure u can too.

you cant sue them for giving you an epidural lol because it is your choice to get it or not, they dont just give it to you. you have to sign papers and everything...ive had three kids and my youngest is three weeks old today..i was induced with my first and had an epidural, i went into labor on my own with my second and had her natural, and i was induced with my third baby and had an epidural...the pain from induction is alot different than going into labor on your own..keep that in mind and it doesnt make you weak or anything to get an epidural it just helped me relax and get some rest even tho it didnt work completely and i was still in pain this last time even tho i got one. goodluck

I didnt have an epidural with my first 2 and dont plan on getting one with this baby unless it is absolutely necessary.  I did get meds through the IV. It took the edge off and made everything bearable. The pushing wasn't that bad in my opinion and like the previous post said once the baby is out pain is instantly gone.  Best feeling in the world LOL

Thanks but if they give me the epidural I'm going to sue them cause i don't care about pain i have a very high tollerance for it i don't want a big needle in my back for no real reason my mom went without it nd she was induced so i don't see a reason unless I'm at risk or my baby is

If they induce u w pitocin most likely u will get an epidural cuz the pain is out of this world insane I've have four epidurals nd it was a miracle it makes u numb for the waist down only draw back is whn a cold front is cumin in my back kills me w my last one it was all natural I made it to the hospital to late for nethng they actualy had to strap my legs nd I had no choice but to push nd after she was out the pain was instantly gone so I hope nd pray I'm able to do a natural one w this one also ... If u r set on not getting epidural I wud start Wrkn on ur breathing while holding ur breath maybe get u one of them stress balls u can squeeze nd mostly is all mind control nd self will ... Gud luck hun
