Horrible one-sided lower back and pelvic pain

Hi, I really need some help with this one. I'm 37 weeks prego and have begun to experience excruciating..and I mean excruciating one-sided (on the left) pain in my lower back and tonight its in my left pelvis going into my left thigh. Its not timed at all so I know its not a real contraction. I have also noticed that sitting on one of those big bouncy balls and rotating myself also helps quite a bit...but now I'm scared to get off of it! At one point tonight it was so bad my husband was begging to go to the ER because the pain actually brought tears to my eyes...........but again since I've been rotating myself around on this ball I haven't had it all...i know the baby has dropped and I really feel her lower now....so maybe she is pushing on something?? Has anyone else experienced pain this bad and if so what helps...its getting a bit scary...

alright I don't know if you're trying to do a home birth or whatnot, but I have to say that any time pain brings you to tears, ESPECIALLY in pregnancy, it's your responsibility to go to the ER or at least call your doctor. You must take care of yourself, and pain is the body's indication that something is not right...please call your doctor/midwife and/or go to the ER...good luck sweetie.
