How did you announce your pregnancy to your parents?

Hi all!

About a week ago I found out I was pregnant. After believing for the 5 weeks that I was still sick from food poisioning (which I thought I had). I took 4 pregnancy test (yes 4!) because I didn't believe I was pregnant. After going to the hospital to make sure, the doctor's confirmed I had a little munchkin in the oven. I had previously made an appointment with my ob/gyn for later that week but the suspense was killing me, however the hospital didn't tell me how many weeks along I was. Once it was time for my real visit, my ob/gyn performed and ultrasound and not only found one munchkin, but a twin! So I am now 9 weeks and 3 days pregnant with twins! Mind you, this is my first pregnancy!
I was wondering, how did you ladies announce your pregnancy to your parents? My mom and I have a pretty close relationship, and just the other week she was telling me how she wanted me to have kids during my year off from school (I graduate college in May..whoop whoop!). But I'm still a lol nervous about telling her. How did you all share the big news?

We went to my parents (they new we were trying) and were hanging out. Didnt really have a plan other than trying to go over late enough that my younger siblings were in bed. Well, one by one the kiddos found out we were there and came down to say hi. Eventually everyone in my family was around hanging out giving no oppotunity for me to start a new conversation so In the middle of a different one I stated "so we're having a baby". Silence. Wait what? Everyone e was staring at me. I said it again and my dad started yelling YAAAAAAAYYYYYYY! In the highest voice I have ever heard him use, over and over. My mom hugged me and eventually I was on the bottom of a dog pile of brothers and sisters giving hugs. Not what I expected but totally fun. Oh. And we told them about 12 hours after we found out

I took about 4-5 pregnancy test and my mom was out of the country with my dad and sister. They came home on a Saturday I picked them up from the airport. And since I work nights. Once we got home I told my mom I'm tired. She's like well go nap. The next day I was coming out the restroom I was throwing up everything. I went to the kitchen and my mom, dad and sister were eating. I was leaning against the wall. And my mom said something is wrong with you. I said what no. She said ur pregnant.  I w said omg mom ur frazy. She then asked me again well are u sick I said no. Then said again Uru pregnant I started crying and my dad hugged me and she said ur t not the first or the last. My parents are supportive.  Waiting on my baby to be born . I am 23 and it was hard well I didn't really well them my mom just said it. I'm due in March so k m close

I understand. Trust me. That's why I had to part this to get ideas. But at least you're still going to school. I think everything will be okay. I believe you'll still be on top of your game and take care of the little one just fine

I'm 17 weeks and I told my mom as soon as I found out. I just blurted it out cause were really close. She was so upset and cried for weeks. I haven't told my dad yet. I just know he is going to freak out. I plan on writting a letter to him and leaving to let the storm blow over lol. I've never been so scared in my whole life. My dads always been rough on us kids. To always be the best we can be in life. I'm 21 and Im due in July. I start nursing school in January 2016. I think that is why he is going to be the most upset. I've honestly never been so scared in my whole life. :(

See my boyfriend is 29 and I'm 22. The crazy thing is I'm away at school (New Orleans) originally from Chicago. So I'm trying to see if I should just come out and tell her but I like the idea of the gift. My mom is sentimental so I think a gift would kind of ease the nervousness. Lol

Congratulations!! For our parents I ordered the little grandbaby frame and put a picture of the ultrasound in it. They all loved it and it's so sweet watching their reactions as they read the poem :)

With the first I just called and told them because my mom had shingles.  This time I made a tshirt for my son that said "I'm getting promoted to big brother" and one for myself that said "eviction notice. Must be out February 25th" Then we wore them around my family til they noticed.

I wish I could do that with my mom :( I'm already out of school, a year away from a degree in paralegal studies, been with my man for 6 years, and when I got pregnant the first time, she hated it. Now I'm 22 weeks pregnant again and haven't even told her. And I live with her.
