Well where I live its two nights after you deliver if its your first baby if its your second or more than after one night if everything is all good. Your body goes through a lot to have a baby so they just want to keep an eye on you. But if you have a c section its 3-5 days.
They wont keep you wired up to ivs and such the entire time. The stay is just for your start of the recovery process
The day after my csection they took everything out, no iv or anything, and I showered and went for walks to visit my son in the nicu. I had to stay but they encouraged me to dress normally and go for walks, have coffee in the cafe with freinds and family, definitely wasn't confined to the room.
I had my daughter 4:09 pm on a Monday and left Wednesday at noon.
Yea that makes sense...I just don't like being hooked up to all those machines and especially IVs! And hospital food is gross lol
being at the hospital will not be as bad as you think. plenty of people to help you and answer your questions. plus you can bring things like your own pillows and blankets to make yourself feel more at home :)
I do think some women are released after one night if they have their babies like in the middle of the night and are there all day and then over night again.
Basically, child birth is a pretty big deal on our bodies. I definitely didn't feel super peppy after and getting up, you are tender and bleeding a good deal. And they do tests and such on baby and make sure they are eating. :
I was appreciative of someone helping me at the hospital verses being at home healing and no one helping me, so I didn't mind staying. :>)
If its your first my hospital keeps you in 5 days for a csection or 3 for a vaginal. They have a lot of things they are supposed to teach you in that time especially regarding breastfeeding. I'm hoping to get out earlier this time.
That seems like a long time :/ what takes so long?
I was released after two nights in the hospital.
