How many is your limit?

Just wondering how many kids everyone thinks is enough? I'm not trying to start a "XX many kids is way too many and you're crazy to have them" debate...just wondering what your limit is.  


I told DH 2 or 4, I wouldn't have just 3. I want 4 but I don't know when we'll get to number 3 let alone number 4...

Ashelen;  Oh really!! thats awesome!!!!!!!! I prefer the jeep or my malibu!! lol  like I said im still young..  I want all the hip stuff.. besides my malibu is only my 2nd car ive owned.  so give it a couple more vehicles, it will be a van soon. lol.. i do want an SUV but cant afford the gas for that, especially if it keeps going up, its already 2.80 or so here. ridiculous!!!

You crack me up with your minivan argument.  :-)  It's not that I hate them, I'm just not ready to be the minivan mom..lol...we always had them growing up though.  And nowadays with the automatic doors and all the features inside, they're cooler than most cars...and a lot of our friends who had kids before us have switched to the minivan and really like them...so who knows...I may give in and get one eventually.

yeah 4WD isn't a consideration here Shayne so I never even thought of that, hehe. we haven't had snow in 20 years.

Your right losing, I come from a huge family, my parents seperated when i was little and married to other people. My mom and step dad have 3 boys and my dad and step mom have 4 boys and 2 girls and not to mention my step dad has 2 from a previous marriage. so thats 11 siblings. I dont think i could do 6 like my dad. and after my mom had the twin boys she was like WERE DONE LOL.

As for the car, I've been borrowing my mom's minivan alot and i always said i would never drive one but i ended up really liking it. I would refer an SUV though as we have really hard winters and 4WD is AMAZING. my mom and i got her van stuck in the driveway last year after we had a really bad storm of over a foot of snow because the snow plows pushed up a mountain of it at the end of the driveway AFTER we'd snow blowed. So i really like Van's for the room and convienience like bucket seats but i really like SUV's for the more driving power in the snow.

I voted 1!  I never wanted kids growing up, I am the youngest of 4 kids(the oldest my brother past away before i was even though of)  I honestly hated having siblings. I dont know why, prolly cause I love attention, which worked out for me cause when I turned 14, I was the so spoiled and my mom payed alot more attention  to me then my sisters. which is wrong, but at the time I loved it.  I dont want to end up being like that.  I didnt want kids all the way up until 6 months before I got pregnant.  my Db lost his first son with his ex, and I had known him since we were kids, so the pain he felt, i felt as well, and we decided to get back together, and he had come to me and told me after we had already gotten together, that he wanted a family. So I thought about it and I came to realize that It was okay with me.  So we started trying. and I got pregnant 6 months later. i now have a 5 month old son.  I hated being pregnant I was miserable and didnt want to do it again. then i gave birth to my son. and as the days went by I thought about it and decided it would be nice to do it again. cause it was an amazing feeling bringing my son into this world.  

So im pretty much torn.  I dont want any more kids, i dont want to share Coles attention or love.  but a small small part of me wants a baby girl.  Cole wont be bored and not have anyone to talk to, hes got 3 cousins from my sisters. and my cousin has alil girl and my other cousin has a baby on the way. so theres lots of kids.  he wont be lonely.  

But I would def never give up my cute car with a sunroof for a minivan! lol... Im not a mini van person.  actually next year were hoping to have a soft top Jeep!!!  

But who knows im only 2 months from being 21 so Im still pretty young, who knows what will happen!!!!!

I've noticed a bit of a pattern on here as far as your childhood determining how many kids you want.  Most people who came from large families are opting for less kids while those who came from small families are opting for more.  The same is true with me, I had one sibling that I was never close to, no cousins. DH is from a big family (5 siblings) and I just think it's great.  

As for vehicles I've driven vans and SUV's.  I currently have a Ford expedition but I'm about to try and sell it for somethign that has more cargo room.  I liked my Chevy Venture but it didn't have enough cargo room either.  I think once I sell my expedition we'll be looking for a Suburban.  DH has a 94 suburban and I love it, but it's pretty beat up and dirty.  I have so little cargo room in my expedition that I can't fit my double stroller in it.  My single stroller only fits in the back if I use a bungy cord to hold it in place so it doesn't fall out while I'm shutting the hatch. Plus if I have the stroller back there I can't fit groceries.
