To my understanding, no. After a few months you will notice a trend and will be able to predict ovulation without the use of BBT (unless you have irregular cycles). Many women will use OPKs in addition to BBT to help pinpoint it a little better.
I agree with Clysta. I used both until I started to see the pattern. With temping it's so picky and only lets you know AFTER. Sure you'll see a temp dip and then the temp spike, but if this is the first time temping then you won't know or get an idea until you see it every month. I did the opk's and temping at the same time. Once you start seeing the pattern in your temps, then you can go by temps...your chart will show the days, you'll get an idea of your "fertile days" leading up to O and then the temp will confirm. That's what I do now and sometimes I don't start temping until I'm closer to O'ing. Anyways, I hope this helps. Best of luck! :)
Well im guessing i ovulated because my temps rised right afterwords...and i was using opks last round...i have a regular cycle but i tend to ovulate different times each month...its always in my fertile days but some sooner and some later...i just have trouble going with cm because i always have it i just naturally produce a lot
