I can't remember =/

Good morning ladies! Just a quick question, I plan to breastfeed my daughter but my husband would like that bonding time too and I plan to pump and let him bottle feed a few times a day to give me a bit of a break. Can this be started right after birth or is there a time frame I should wait before I introduce the bottle? I didn't start my son on the bottle until he was a year so I have no clue :/

Thanks for the advice everyone! I was nervous about nipple confusion so I think I will hold off a few months just to be safe!

Wait at least 3 to 4 weeks so your milk can build up then pump a few bottles a day.

I was always told to wait at least 3 weeks so the baby can build up their mouth muscles. It take more work to nurse than the bottle.

I would suggest you do only boob. Its beneficial not just because of the milk but for hand eye coordination and jaw muscle development and stuff like that. I'd say have dad take his shirt off and once you have finished feeding baby hand him over to dad for some skin to skin. Great bonding for dad but no bottle necessary.

I'd wait at least two weeks although experts recommend six as a minimum to switch successfully. My lo took both bottle and breast the day after she was born and never had any issues, but I won't introduce it so soon this time.

You can start them right off but regardless of how soon you introduce the bottle the baby may not take back to the nipple so you may have to only pump as opposed to pumping and breast feeding
