How do doctor knows my baby is still healthy and hasn't developed a birth defect if I haven't had a sonogram since i found out what I'm having at 21 weeks? Just a random thought..

I go in weekly now and baby heartbeat is always strong and good. At my 21 week scan the baby looked great!

Heartbeat.  If the baby has a good strong heartbeat,  and looked great at 21 weeks,  you're fine.

There is a lot of discussion now about not having too many sonograms,  and cutting back on doing unnecessary ones.

If you're feeling lots of normal movement,  and the heartbeat is good,  your baby is fine.  ;D

I did have a anatomy scan at (21 weeks) when I found out what I was having. I'll be 39 weeks Wednesday and was just wondering how they know if everything is still going ok?

Usually if baby is moving and you are measuring fine nothing is wrong. They should have done an anatomy scan to make sure everything is progressing fine. Usually if something is wrong that's when it will start to show
