Braxton hicks don't really hurt. It just feels like your uterus is balling up tightly. Starts from your back or sides and comes towards the front. Contractions that are true feel like really bad menstrual cramps and your uterus will tighten up with them. Once you start getting contractions, even if you think they are just Braxton hicks start timing. When they are every five minutes for over an hour and don't go away with activity change or rest then its time to go hey checked.
Could be round ligament pain. Its from your belly/uterus growing. Braxton hicks aren't supposed to hurt but they can. Hope this helps(:
