Shaving down there (pubic hair)

Hi ladies,
I'm 28 weeks pregnant. This is embarrassing but I have this question. It's been bothering me. I'm terrified about birth, but I was wondering if you ladies shaved down before birth. I keep myself clean and now at 28 weeks, it's getting hard to shave because my stomach is on the way and I can't see well. I can't imagine when I'm like 30+ weeks, it will be worse. I hope I can get shaved up before going in for delivery. I'm just embarrassed for the doctor for look down there when delivery time comes. Am  I the only one who worried about this? Do women shave before going in? This is my first pregnancy. Looking forward your comments.

Honestly they don't really pay attention to that but if it makes you feel better to shave then do the best you can but when you go into labor you won't be thinking about if your shaved or not

Doctors do not care. Nurses do not care. I personally could not fathom wanting my labia to look like a 9-year-old's, especially while birthing a child. Adults grow pubic hair. It is part of growing up, it is natural, it is not "gross" and shouldn't be a source of embarrassment. Medical facilities do not shave patients except if necessary for surgery - it increases the risk of infection especially considering the possibility for open wounds from nicks and cuts. If you are CLEAN you will be fine. Clean shaven is certainly not necessary.

Honestly, I have had 2 kids, now prego with my 3rd and I don't even remember whether or not I was shaved. I imagine I was at least clean cut since I usually shave anyway. But obviously if I don't remember, it wasn't that big a deal :). I would say if you can't shave, just make sure you are well washed up!

I'm 28wks right now...With my first i was able to keep shaving. But this time I'm bigger then before so i gave up on shaving. The reasons i shaved was for me and my husband.
I'm not worried about the dr. He has seen many vaginas and I'm sure after delivering babies he don't look at them in that kind of way anymore...so don't worry if you are hairy. Your dr doesn't care, he cares about delivering the baby not how your vagina looks.
Now if this is a personal problem for you, you can always go to a professional and have them wax or shave you.

Honestly ladies when you are in labor and in all the pain you won't care if you have hair or not you won't care who looks and what comes out you'll be far too focused on pushing the baby out. I never shaved with my first and they didn't shave me. I could care less all I wanted was the baby out safe. The doctors just want to get bub out they couldn't care if you had braids down there!

Personally I'm gonna shave, but that's only because I hate body hair, and just can't bring myself to not shave, even though I'm 38 weeks, and can barely manage it. As far the doctor goes, I figure when you have a job that requires you to see stds up close and personal, a little bit of hair would more than likely go unnoticed, and definitely nothing to be embarrassed about lol Plus everybody is way more focused on baby than anything else.

No if your hairy they won't even look twice. Also they will shave some of it for you before you deliver anyways :)

That's the last thing your doctor will be concerned with they will be concerned with the well being of and your baby and a safe delivery don't stress about that

I just trim as best I can with a mirror and an electric shaver. I am not going near there with a regular razor.

I'm the same way. I'll definitely be shaved before labor too. If it's hard for you try using a mirror to help you see better. I'm 37 weeks and I haven't been able to see down there for months!
