Sharp pains in my vagina. Please help

I am 38.5 weeks pregnant and have been having some extremely sharp pains in my vagina area, more specifically in my pee hole (I know that's not the correct medical terminology but I think lamen's terms are best at this point!) I was really relieved to find this post and the responses b/c now I know this is common and not necessarily something that I need to be concerned about. Also, just a piece of advice...after dealing with these frequent pains for about 15 min and squeezing the crap out of my husband's hand, I laid over on my left side with my body pillow between my legs and they went away (thank goodness).

Is it pain in your "pee hole", or is it in your pelvic area? I am currently 35 weeks and 1 day and I started experiencing pelvic pain about 2 weeks ago. It's a feeling where you can't really be doing much except lay down on your side so that you don't experience the sharp pain. This feeling comes to be because the baby is now in position and your bones are shifting for when you give birth. A maternity support belt could help with the pain. There is nothing that can be given or done about the pain. In case of anything visit this website and read about it. Trust me I'll help a lot to read it. http://www.bandbacktogether.com/pubic-symphysis-diastasis-resources/

If it stings or burns while you go pee then it might be a UTI.  But if it doesn't,  then it just might be the baby trying to move down more into position.  But it's more likely to be the baby.  Iv had it with all 4 of my babies now I'm having my 5th. Also sleeping on your left side might help too like you did, put a pillow in between your legs but also try putting one in between your tummy and mattress and see if that helps as well.
