Moms who breastfeed and pump.

I'm due in just 24 days and planning to breastfeed. But I also want my boyfriend or other family members to be able to feed the baby in case I'm busy or for when I go back to work. But I'm worried about how difficult it might be to go from breast to bottle so much. Did your little one have a hard time latching after being bottle fed or did he/she just go right at it?

I do plan to breast feed only for at least the first two weeks. I just know it'll be a little helpful to have someone else be able to feed him at times. Thank you ladies! (:

I had my son 3 wks ago and I'm doing both. He does get fustrated when i go to breast feed him, so if you plan to do both. Ofcourse depending on your baby and how he/she is on breast feeding and bottle feeding, i would breast feed before your baby gets extremely hungry.. I'm still learning on it lol

It is better to try to immediately breastfeed. Let the baby get used to that and the introduce the bottle. It will also help with your milk production as well.

I've heard it's best to do only beat for the 1st 15 days or something, then baby wouldn't mind going back & forth.

My son had,no problems, he was a nicu baby too. I used mams bottles. Just make sure to keep your boobs on a schedule so you dont lose milk production.

With my 1st, that was the reason I couldn't breast feed at all. I was young & didn't know any better, nor had I taken a class before so I put breast & bottle on my birth plan. Right street delivery staff & family was giving him bottles, when I tried to do breast he wouldn't. I felt Terrible. This time, I am doing breast exclusively for the 1st month - my classes start back after the 1st month. Then, I still plan to do breast while I'm home/able.

My daughter had no problem. They gave her a bottle first because they took her to the NICU. Then when I went in to breastfeed she had no problem latching. I breast fed and pumped for 9 months and she never had a problem adjusting to either.
