When is a good time to choose a peditrian for your baby after its born?

I am actually a pediatric nurse so my decision was more simple than most. I just have to decide which Dr in our practice will be the primary.... Ask around your area (if you have friends with kids ask them) and you can always call around and ask questions to help you find the right practice for you. My practice actually does new parent tours where you come to the office and meet a few of the DRs and staff as well as some other parents in the area that are expecting and the drs answer all kinds of questions to help people decide if its the practice for them. You can see if any practices near you offer something similar.

Well this app says that it is a good week to go ahead and do so but i just turned 18weeks today when did you choose yours? I just want the best doc for my baby

Also if your pediatrician that you choose has privileges at the hospital you deliver at, they will usually come and see your baby in the hospital too

You should decide on a pediatrician before baby is born because many times they will want baby to follow up 1-3 days after coming home from the hospital.
