Need help

Doctor said I could be induced if I wanted to after 38 weeks if I didn't go naturally. What advice can y'all give me on making that decision? Should I just wait or is it better knowing when your baby will come?

Thank you all so much ladies! And my doctor just said that if I wanted to be induced after 38 weeks he didn't have a problem with it so I said I would think about it but I think I'm going to wait it out and if when he checks me again and if I'm still not dialated he might decide that we have to or I will probably ask him too. Not sure yet but all y'all's comments have helped alot. I didn't know anything about induction

I just had my baby girl (ftm) on wednesday morning. Ended up having to be induced because of a blood pressure spike. had a 14 hr labor and it hurt like you would not believe. the nurse had to slow the pictocin 2-3 times because it was bringing on the.contractions too quickly and I.was getting only about a 30 sec rest between them. I hadnt wanted pain meds but I ended up getting the IV first and.when that couldnt help I caved and asked for the epidural wich helped a lot but I could still feel a lot of tge pain but I had almost no use of my legs. pushing took about 15 min but it was all worth it. everyone has a different experience but even the nurses warned me before they started the induction that the contractions would be worse due to the meficine.

I would wait until after you are due at least

I was induced with my first baby. I loved it!!! :) my body was ready, and do was my daughter. 12 hours into labor and a push and a half she was here. :) The only advice I have is wait for your baby to "drop". That way the baby's head puts pressure on your cervix :)

Do anything you can not to be induced.  38 weeks is nuts babies are meant to come when they come. Unless your close to 2weeks overdue I wouldn't even consider it.  Pitocin does make contractions longer and harder which guess what...can make your babies blood and oxygen flow restricted and before you know it you MAY(not definitely) need a c section due to fetal distress.  You know whats right just make sure your doctor knows your in charge

I wouldnt do it. Try to wait it out unless theres something medically wrong.

I wouldn't recommend being induced unless it is absolutely necessary. I was induced with my first one and it was a very rough experience. The pitocin makes your contractions way more intense and can make your labor longer.
