Yes definitely call your OB or L&D, I think more than hurting the baby, a hard blow to the stomach can cause a lot of problems for the placenta too if it's in the right position. Better safe than sorry! (Don't feel like a retard, I might as well have two right feet, pregnancy brings clumsiness I guess haha!) Good luck!
always call. they might have you come in for an ultrasound or bloodwork to make sure you didnt hurt your placenta.
dont feel dumb, i feel dowb my basement stairs when i was pregnant, luckily i landed on my butt which is pretty cushioned, haha.
I agree with the other posters.... I took a spill and landed on my side when I was a few months pregnant...
YES...I fell flat on my stomach at 36 weeks and they weren't completely worried about the baby but more about the placenta...go get checked to make sure placenta is still attached etc. Good luck!
Yes call your Dr.
Good luck, keep us posted
Yea definitely call! Things happen, don't feel like a retard. I feel down the steps in my first pregnancy, thankfully I landed on my butt. It's always better to be safe. Hope you feel better soon!!
I hope you, and baby, are doing ok - update us when you can. And yes, any time you have a fall of any kind during pregnancy its important to call your doctor. How are those toes doing?
I fell down the stairs when I was six months pregnant with my second- on the way down I actually peed my pants (TMI)! The next day I went to the doc and had them check his heartbeat just in case.... it is totally worth it- at least for peace of mind!
Thanks for the advice guys. I ended up having a few strong contractions so I called and they had me go in. I was on the monitor for awhile and only had two more little contractions then nothing. The hb was in the 140's and the baby was kicking so everything appears to be fine! I was very relieved. I'll be keeping a close eye on the bh and any other twinges I have over the next week just to make sure I'm not showing any preterm labor signs. The ob said I'm really lucky because in just a few more weeks a fall like that on my belly could mean disaster. Right now the baby still has a lot of room in the sac and so she said it probably wasn't effected at all. My dh was cute because he got all concerned and doesn't want me to carry anything down the stairs anymore. I was holding my 10 pound dog because she has a broken leg when my 90 pound dog came up and ran into the back of my legs thus causing the fall.
Nicmom~ Dh's are supposed to do that. Mine doesn't want me out in the heat while I'm preggo. (I pass out easy and get heatstroke.)
Glad to hear everything is ok, I dont carry anything down the stairs anymore except my 2 year old and most of the time I make him walk. It is so scary to fall.
When my mom was 8 months pregnant with me she fell flat on her belly, she waited to see the dr until her appointment later that week, I think people worried a lot less back then. THere is no way I would wait that long to get checked out.
hey im 22 weeks pregnent ad fell down the last 3 steps didn hurt my back just bushed it of the stairs slighty ad landed on me bum would my baby be ok just very worrried
Yes go get checked like right now. I just fell down a flight of stairs last night and I'm 37 weeks pregnant with twins. I literally did back flips the way I fell and busted my face cuz I was trying to protect my belly. Everythng is good now. I'm just rest sore. But u don't wanna take any chances, its too risky.
