Nightmares???

I've never been the kind to have nightmares until the last few weeks. I am 16 weeks pregnant first child n I was wondering if anyone else has had nightmares or could tell me if this is normal for pregnancies?

Oh God I have had the worst of nightmares with my first pregnancy. Several times I dreamt of my own death, my being murdered or something. One of which was so vivid I still remember it to this day. I was somehow standing over myself, staring down at my dead body. It all scared me so bad I woke up bawling like a child, and wound up throwing the clothes that I had been wearing in the dream in the trash because I could not look at them without crying again.
With this baby I haven't had too many bad dreams, but before I found out I was having some weird ones! I kept dreaming that in the strangest places, one of which being on the side of a highway, I would stumble across an infant boy. No idea where it would come from but there it was. And in others I would wake up in a hospital, no idea how I would have gotten there, and once again there is a little baby boy in my arms. Despite being told that chances of my being able to have another kid were slim to none due to health issues, it was enough to make me take a pregnancy test when I came down with what felt like the flu and sure enough, I was pregnant. Even my doctor was shocked about it, and when it came time to find out what it was? You guessed it, a little boy!

I've had a few horrible dreams myself that were very disturbing :(

I'm also 16 weeks! And I've had some crazy dreams. Although I've had night terrors my whole life, I've had a few since pregnancy

A lot of ppl have very vivid dreams during pregnancy. Mine have been so disturbing that I've actually been glad to wake up to use the restroom but most of the time, it'd just pick up where I left off:/ some are supposed to be related to what trimester you're in/what you're becoming aware of(water dreams are usually in the 2nd trimester and relate to you being aware of baby 'swimming' in the womb) and others are just to freak the mother out..last night I had a dream about an amusement park and twisters kept coming through as I was running with my kids to safety. I almost lost my youngest twice but wouldn't let go. Another was a huge tornado that we barely escaped from and I used my body to shield the kids even though I was big n preg and got all cut up. I think mine has been due to all the issues or "storms" in my life, but it's deff normal and I think we remember more bc of constantly waking uo to adjust positions or use the bathroom so it's fresh in our heads.

It is a very normal part of pregnancy. Most pregnant women get very vivid dreams. I started having weird and very vivid dreams when i was about 12 weeks pregnant.
Some of the dreams are scary and upsetting but you may not always just have scary dreams, sometimes you may have very pleasant dreams.
I mostly get the scary and weird dreams, ive only had a few pleasant ones.
I am 31 weeks pregnant with my first.
