It shouldnt I had 2 use one while I was breastfeeding n I made plenty of milk I actually got engorged
Ok I was starting to worry cause I don't feel "full"
As long as bby is gettin somethin out of em u should be fine
Hopefully in a couple weeks I can wean her off of the shield.
My son wouldn't feed without the shield. Try drinking more fluids and eating right. That helped me produce a little more. I pumped every bottle just so I knew how much my son was eating.
Nope, my lactation consultant suggested it for the first few weeks to help encourage milk supply.
I wouldnt know about weanin em off it cause my lil boy had 2 use cause he couldnt latch on right, I guess my boobs we're too big for his lil mouth lol my poor bby
Proudmama86, that's the issues here. My boobs are too big for her mouth. She has a little tiny mouth. I drink lots of water and eat when hungry even if its 5am just haven't felt "full" today...I have the tingly feeling from time to time which I'm sure is milk filling in right?
They effected mine because I was putting them on wrong. If you feel like your supply has dropped try pumping after 1 or two feedings.
Not feeling full doesn't mean that you aren't producing enough milk. Be glad you don't have that discomfort.
I used a shield, too. One day my son decided he didn't need it anymore and latched fine without. I'd say just try without from time to time and see what happens.
Shes eating good right? Like shes getting full?
Yeah she eats good and after she lets go you can see the milk in the shield. I'm just worried that I won't produce like I did with my first DD but I was pumping for her only because I couldn't get her to latch and the nipple shields weren't working for me.
Then u should be fine as long as shes gettin full I wouldnt worry (I kno easier said than done) if anything like a previous poster wrote pump in between feedings. Not sound nosey or like im askin for tmi but do u leak?
Ya I leak some, especially right before a feeding
