OT-I saw this on Yahoo news

Just though I would share this with you ladies.
Last night I was on Yahoo checking my mail and a story caught my eye. This women in Massachusetts was in labor, her husband was driving the car and they came to a complete stop due to bumper to bumper traffic. The husband decided to go into the emergency lane and start driving since he didn't know how much longer this baby would wait. Well, they get pulled over the cop asks them why they are in the E lane. The husband explains and then the cop looks at the women and says "What is under your coat" she explains that it is her belly. He makes her undo her coat to prove that she really is pregnant!!! The cop then leaves their car for 10 minutes returns and says they will receive something in the mail. About a week later they get a $100 ticket!!!!
What kind of **** is that?? Aren't cops supposed to help you in this kind of situation not give you a hard time for it and then issue a citation?
Just thought it was interesting.....

One thing though is I'm sure a lot of people pull this stuff to try and get out of a ticket.  My cousin is a CHP in California and he has a couple of stories of people trying to get out of a ticket by saying the women is in labor, he had one who wasn't even pregnant.  But I do know if the women was actually in labor my cousin would have given her an escort.  Maybe the cop didn't think she was really in labor and had her show that she really was pregnant.  I don't like what he did but I'm sure they get that kind of **** all the time and I really hope because they were legit they won't have to pay the ticket.

I know, usually cops do give an escort for women in labor, what a jerk. I did see in the article that they are trying to get the ticket dropped, I'm sure they will but it still stinks that they have to go through that...

Yeah...I'm from MA and it was all over the news...the husband said in the interview that he was relieved to get pulled over because he thought for sure he'd get a police escort and be able to get to the hospital faster and safer lol  I'm pretty sure that they don't have to pay the ticket...the cop has been shamed almost every morning by news anchors around the state!
