Ovarian cyst

Have any of you ladies had an ovarian cyst while pregnant? If so, what were your symptoms? I think I may have one I'm just not sure. Are they harmful?

I had several before getting pregnant. Actually a month before i got pregnant, i went to the hospital for pain/fever and they said they were benign and just to take Tylenol and have a gyno check up on me a few times a year. The reason i got chills and a fever was because it became inflammed . Tylenol and anti inflammatory pills did the trick. I still have pain on my lower left abdominal next to my pelvis but i deal with it now. It's light now and it just feels like a sore or strained muscle.  Dont worry you'll be find and so will your baby. Just get check if the pain gets worse or if you get sick.

It is actually pretty common.  Have you ever been diagnosed with PCOS?  I have it and get them all the time.  I am almost 16 weeks and I think it is finally gone.  I was scheduled to have Endometriosis surgery but found out I was pregnant instead.  I feel constant tearing when I go from sitting to standing.  My Dr says that it will tear until it can no longer tear and then I will be fine.....Uggg not sure how much longer!

I had a grapefruit sized mass that my dr thought was just a cyst that developed from me getting pregnant. We all thought it would go away but, it only got bigger and the Dr said I probably started developing it before I got pregnant. I had to have surgery at 20 weeks to get it removed as well as my right ovary. The mass I had could have been very harmful and potentially harm my baby if it busted. I had absolutely no idea I had one until I went in for my first appt. I was not in any pain whatsoever and it was huge!

I had two this pregnancy. One on each ovary. When I had a ultrasound at 21 weeks n some days they were still there. One was the size of a golf ball. The hurt really bad right around your side, I thought I was miscarrying but thats when they found the cysts!

I had one doctor found it at 12 weeks and just kept an eye it, now I'm almost 22 weeks and its seems to be gone, its normal to develop one while pregnant especially in the 1st trimester, and sometimes they burst and its discomfort and sometimes it just goes away on its own.

Thanks ladies. I just keep having pain/discomfort of my left side all the way down to my hip and a little towards where my ovary would be. It's been there for about 3 weeks off and on everyday. Just making sure if it is a cyst, baby is okay.

I've had one rupture while not pregnant. I don't think they are supposed to be harmful and they don't always rupture. When mine ruptured they just sent me home and told me it was already done by the time I got to the hospital. It hurt so bad in my lower area, I couldn't get out of bed took me like 30 min to get downstairs. But my mom had one wheb she was my age that filled with toxins and could have killed her when it ruptured. But I'm pretty sure they are harmless most of the time and if u are having pains in your lower stomach and they aren't realllly bad it's probably ur uterus stretching.

I have one that they picked up on my 7 week ultrasound and then mentioned it again yesterday at my 12 week visit. My Dr said they will be keeping an eye in it, most of the time they are completely benign and just develop on the ovary which released the egg. I sometimes feel a little discomfort where it is but nothing major. When you get your ultrasounds done your Dr should be able to tell you if there is anything there.
