Walking The Cervix

My daughter is 38 weeks and had an appt today. She's 1cm 60% effaced and thin, but her cervix was still in the back so the doctor said she was going to move it in the front which is called " Walking The Cervix" now I have had 4 babies and never heard that before. So can some explain to me what that means, and does help trying to move things along? My daughter has been 1cm and 60% effaced for 2 weeks now and having lots of painful BH.

So it should help her go into labor? She been saying she feels different down there like feeling a ball since she had that done.

Oh and a sweep is when the dr detaches the sack by sweeping fingers around the cervix. Kind of like using a butter knife to get cranberry sauce out of the can. Sorry but that's the best example I had

It's like a membrane sweep. Dr will kind of pull the cervix down. I had it done in conjuction with a sweep with my 4 th baby. It's a little uncomfortable but not really painful. I've had a sweep done with 3 of my 4 babies at 38 wks, put me in labor within hours up to 2 days. I'd recommend it.

No. She told my daughter her cervix was way in the back so she pulled her cervix forward.
