Paint fumes and I am 7 weeks pregnant...

Hello. I was at my moms house today where they were painting in one of the rooms. I had the window open and I also had a sweater over my nose so I could smell the paint fumes. DO you think my baby will be okay? I was looking on the internet and they said as long as it was minimal exposure I should be fine. But I am still worried. What do you ladies think? Thanks so much!

Girl, I painted 9 rooms of my house when I was pregnant with my last child. She is brilliant (she can do simple sign language and she's already talking at 10 months old). What you're reading is correct! Minimal exposure with adequate ventilation is fine!!!

I just got done priming and painting my hubby's office and we're trying to have another baby. I was not worried one bit about the fumes. They make fume-free paints, or paints from all natural ingredients if you are still freaked out.

From what I understand, you would have to be sitting a fume-filled room for hours on end for it to begin to affect baby. Long term exposure is when you should be worried. Hanging out at your mom's for a few hours should be just fine!
