If you want to put baby in crib it is best to put baby crib in your room. I just found it easier to use the bassinet part of pack and play and to co sleep.
Slept my baby in a bassinet for 2weeks because stayed at parents then went home and in this crib he went
My son slept in a pack in play with a bassinet my daughter sleeps in a bassinet. Wanted to Co sleep but hubby was against it
Never have i heard boys are at a higher risk for sids. Children can sleep in whatever you want them to sleep in just dont put anything in the crib with them. A blanket is fine to cover them with so they dont get cold. I have two boys , my oldest always slept in his crib. My youngest we co-slept a bit and now he sleeps in his crib.
I used a pack n play with bassinet while I was awake and took baby to bed with me at night to co sleep. Babies that sleep in a crib by them selves are at a higher risk for sids. Boy babies are also at a higher risk.
